Boma port is located on portside of Congo river. The river can be entered directly from the sea in deep water. 
Transit time from Banana to Boma is approximately four hours depending on river current and ship's speed. 
Boma port is located on portside of Congo river. Max LOA is 175 m. Tolerated or may be accomodated : 195 m.

ISPS : Level 1.
Weather : Heavy thunderstorms and torrential rains fall during rainy season : Mid-October to Mid-May / State owned stevedoring.

Lone commercial wharf of 75 m designed for one vessel calling at a time.The vessel up to 140 m LOA may be accommodated provided pilot grants approval (basis case to case). Possession of bowthruster is compulsory for any vessel calling Banana commercial wharf.

Water density : Banana Cial Wharf and Banana River : Low tide : 1.010 - High tide : 1.025 /
Banana Terminal : 1.012 on the surface (2m) due to Congo river current - 1.025 below the surface.

ISPS : Level 1 / Weather : Rainy season from Oct 15 to May 15.
During rainfall, all harbour activity ceases.
